Berni Jiang (she/her) is an Australian-born Chinese screenwriter and director based between Gadigal Land, Sydney Australia and Boorloo, Perth Australia. 

Shaped by nature and Chinese philosophies in her upbringing, she has a minimalistic yet sensory approach to weaving narratives. 

Her short films “To Fly a Kite” 《风筝悟》 2023 and  “Mango Seed” 《芒果芯》 2025 have screened in International and Australian film festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival. She is currently developing two feature length films; one that traces the lifelong journey of a mischievous Chinese village boy who eventually finds himself facing fatherhood in Australian suburbia, and a Buddhist woman clique that traverses China on an expedition to cleanse wild spirits.

Berni has worked with art and cultural figures such as Nowness Asia, Phoenix Central Park and Community Arts Network. Whilst at PUSH as a director and editor, her commercial collaborators include ASICS, Champion, lululemon and Bonds.
